Today, rioters attempted to stop the certification of the results of the United States Election by storming the US Capitol and taking it over. This was an attempted coup, encouraged by the President of the United States and the lawmakers who believe that supporting him is better than not supporting him. As I write this there are still rioters inside the building. Those rioters proudly carry flags with Donald Trump’s name.

Over the weekend Solar Winds, a company that makes management and monitoring software for corporate IT networks (not to be confused with the 1993 computer game of the same name which I loved), disclosed what could be the largest single data breach in history. Solar Winds’ Orion product, which is a software platform for monitoring computer servers and workstations, had a security vulnerability that has been exploited.
